Trump Warns of Severe Economic Consequences for Nations Aiding Iran

U.S. President Donald Trump has issued a stern warning to "any country" assisting Iran with its military efforts, threatening severe economic repercussions as part of heightened pressures from Washington on the Islamic Republic following months of conflict.

In a post on his Truth Social platform, Trump declared: "I announce today that any country allowing its financial institutions, companies, airports, and government agencies to provide any form of lifeline to Iran will face dire economic consequences."

In his extended message, Trump asserted that Tehran "did not seize the great opportunity" to strike a deal. He stated, "Hence, I declare the most crushing economic operation ever undertaken against any country!" signaling an "unprecedented economic war."

Addressing countries suspected of aiding Iran without naming them, he added: "Oil smuggling, currency exchanges, cash transfers, exchange offices, ship registries, shell companies... all of this must stop now."

Last week, U.S. Treasury Secretary Scott Bissont warned Iran of an economic isolation "unlike anything the world has seen."
