Hezbollah's Deputy Secretary General Sheikh Naim Qassem emphasized the importance of resistance, stating that "any steadfastness, regardless of its cost, halts the enemy's advance and lays the groundwork for reclaiming our status." He warned that "any retreat in the face of the enemy will lead to our annihilation, as they operate mercilessly with the aim of dominating the world."
Speaking at the Islamic Unity Conference on Sunday, Qassem maintained that as long as "we are steadfast and defend our rights and land, their plans will fail, even if it results in significant sacrifices and considerable bloodshed." He described these sacrifices and bloodshed as the natural path, along with unity, to defeating the enemy's plans.
Qassem highlighted the current role of America as "an adversary to the people, aiming to undermine the roots of the Islamic project and the rights of people in our region." He added that America desires "land, the future, and to lead the people according to its skewed choices, making them subservient."
Discussing Iran, Qassem mentioned that "America and Israel failed in three wars against the Islamic Republic due to the unity and resilience of the Iranian people."
He stressed the importance of unity, saying, "disagreements among Muslims should not open an internal front and distract us from our main enemy." He noted that this unity is embodied in Lebanon between Hezbollah, the Amal Movement, and all political forces rejecting Israel and seeking liberation.
Qassem pointed out that "Palestine’s contributions have been through blood, weaponry, finances, confrontation, and shared enmity towards Israel and Washington, which altogether express true unity." He referenced the late Iranian Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei, who transitioned from the theoretical to the practical unity that revived the Palestinian cause.
