Real Madrid Thumps Shakhtar with Five Goals in the Champions League

Vinicius Junior scored twice to lead Real Madrid to a 5-0 victory at Shakhtar Donetsk's home ground, bouncing back from their loss at Santiago Bernabeu to Sheriff Tiraspol in their last match of Group D in the UEFA Champions League. Real Madrid is currently in second place with six points, trailing Sheriff, who lost 3-1 at Inter Milan, who have four points.

The match featured several Brazilian players from both teams, but Vinicius Junior and Rodrygo stood out as they started in attack alongside Karim Benzema. Shakhtar held on until Sergiy Kryvtsov accidentally put a cross from Lucas Vazquez into his own net following pressure from Benzema in the 37th minute.

In the second half, Vinicius scored two goals within five minutes. The first was a simple tap-in following a brilliant pass from Luka Modric, and the second came from individual effort after he dribbled past three defenders. Vinicius then assisted his compatriot Rodrygo for the fourth goal before Benzema sealed the win for the visitors with a shot from inside the box during stoppage time.
