His Highness Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, the Amir of Qatar, met with several dignitaries, including heads of brotherly and friendly countries and delegations participating in the 26th Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP26) at the conference center in Glasgow, Scotland, earlier today.
His Highness met with the following leaders: President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi of Egypt, President Mohamed Ould Cheikh El Ghazouani of Mauritania, President Félix Tshisekedi of the Democratic Republic of the Congo and President of the African Union, President Wavel Ramkalawan of Seychelles, President Gotabaya Rajapaksa of Sri Lanka, and President Vahagn Sargsyan of Armenia.
Additionally, His Highness met with Prime Minister Sheikh Sabah Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah of Kuwait, Prime Minister Najib Mikati of Lebanon, Prime Minister Abdulhamid Dbeibah of Libya, Chancellor Angela Merkel of Germany, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau of Canada, Prime Minister Mario Draghi of Italy, and Prime Minister Edi Rama of Albania, as well as several heads of delegations participating in the summit.
During the meetings, the leaders discussed cooperative relations and ways to strengthen and develop them, as well as exchanging views on the most significant regional developments. They also discussed key topics on the summit's agenda. Several members of the official delegation accompanying the Amir attended the meetings.
