The Federal Center for Nutrition indicated that Vitamin B12 is very important for health, as it is involved in various metabolic processes, in addition to its significance for blood formation and nerve function. The German center stated that the daily requirement for Vitamin B12 is 4 micrograms for adults, 4.5 micrograms for pregnant women, and 5 micrograms for breastfeeding women. Furthermore, the center noted that symptoms of Vitamin B12 deficiency include persistent fatigue, lack of concentration, memory weakness, mood disturbances, as well as sensory and motor dysfunctions. Dietary sources of Vitamin B12 include animal-derived foods such as meat, fish, eggs, and cheese.
