His Highness Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, Emir of Qatar, attended the conclusion of the "Qatar Grand Prix" Formula 1 race on Sunday evening, which was the twentieth round of the World Championship for the 2021 season. The event was organized by the Qatar Motor and Motorcycle Federation from November 19 to 21 at the Lusail International Circuit.
The race was also attended by His Highness the Father Emir Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani, Her Excellency Sheikha Moza bint Nasser, His Highness Sheikh Jassim bin Hamad Al Thani, the Personal Representative of the Emir, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Khalifa Al Thani, and His Excellency Sheikh Jassim bin Khalifa Al Thani.
Also present were His Excellency Sheikh Khalid bin Khalifa bin Abdulaziz Al Thani, Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, along with several esteemed sheikhs and ministers, His Excellency Mr. Stefano Domenicali, President and CEO of the Formula 1 World Championship, His Excellency Mr. Jean Todt, President of the International Automobile Federation, His Excellency Mr. Gianni Infantino, President of FIFA, and several heads of federations, along with members of the diplomatic missions accredited in the country and guests of the championship.
His Excellency Sheikh Khalid bin Khalifa bin Abdulaziz Al Thani awarded the winners of the race, which was won by British driver Lewis Hamilton from the Mercedes team, who finished in first place, surpassing Dutch driver Max Verstappen from the Red Bull team in second place, and Spanish driver Fernando Alonso from the Alpine team, who finished third.
