Diplomatic Efforts to Recover Iraqi Funds from Abroad

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs confirmed today, Friday, the recovery of 24 million dollars from Germany of Iraqi funds abroad. Ministry spokesman Ahmed Al-Sahhaf stated in remarks followed by Alsumaria News that "there is ongoing movement to recover Iraqi funds overseas," noting that "the ministry has recovered 24 million dollars from Germany." He added, "We hope to achieve clear results regarding the issue of Iraqi properties abroad and to ensure their security and confirm their ownership to Iraq." He mentioned that "Iraqi companies, through the ministry, are working with Iraqi embassies around the world to follow up on the file of Iraq's funds abroad."
