Jürgen Klopp has warned Egyptian star Mohamed Salah, a Liverpool player, against moving to Real Madrid. According to media reports, the German coach of Liverpool has given advice to his player regarding his future if he decides to leave the "Reds". Salah's contract with Liverpool expires in the summer of 2023. With negotiations for a renewal being halted, numerous media outlets have speculated about Salah's potential destinations should he leave Liverpool, mentioning Real Madrid or Barcelona, as reported by Russia Today.
The Spanish newspaper "El Nacional" revealed in a report that Klopp communicated his opinion to Salah regarding his next destination if he chooses not to renew with the "Reds". According to the source, Klopp advised his Egyptian player to move to Barcelona, as he would be the star of the team following the departure of Argentine Lionel Messi to Paris Saint-Germain. Conversely, moving to Real Madrid would make him compete for the spotlight with Frenchman Karim Benzema and possibly also with compatriot Kylian Mbappé, who is rumored to join the royal team next summer.
Recently, there have been reports of Salah's desire to secure £500,000 per week to renew his contract at Anfield, a request Liverpool has not responded to yet. Salah, 29, is having the best start to his career this season, scoring in the last 10 consecutive matches with Liverpool across all competitions, and he leads the Premier League scoring list with 10 goals after just nine rounds.
Last weekend, the Egyptian Pharaoh achieved a historic milestone, breaking into the top spot of the best African scorers in Premier League history after reaching 107 goals, surpassing Chelsea legend and retired Ivorian striker Didier Drogba, who has 104 goals.
Salah is among the list of 30 players nominated by "France Football" for the Ballon d'Or this year, noting that voting closed last Sunday evening. Salah, along with Argentine Lionel Messi, a six-time winner of the prestigious award, Polish Robert Lewandowski, and Italian Jorginho, are considered frontrunners for this year's Ballon d'Or. The winner will be announced at a ceremony to be held in the French capital, Paris, on November 29.
