Al Ahly Crowned African Super Cup Champions After Penalty Shootout Triumph Over Raja

Egyptian club Al Ahly has won the African Super Cup title against Moroccan club Raja, in a match held at Al Rayyan Stadium in Doha on Wednesday evening. Egyptian defender Yasser Ibrahim scored an own goal in the 13th minute, putting Raja ahead, a lead they maintained until the very end of the game.

Al Ahly struggled to penetrate Raja's defense throughout the remainder of the match until midfielder Taher Mohamed scored an equalizer in the 89th minute, sending the match directly to penalties without extra time, as per the tournament regulations. In the penalty shootout, Al Ahly emerged victorious with a score of 6-5, successfully converting all their spot-kicks and thus claiming the "African Super Cup" title.

Just moments before the kickoff of the African Super Cup match against Raja, Al Ahly suffered a significant blow with the injury of midfielder Amr El Soulia without any apparent cause; however, the team managed to overcome this setback and secure the African title.
