German coach Thomas Tuchel, former manager of French club Paris Saint-Germain, has arrived in London to take over as coach of Chelsea following the dismissal of Frank Lampard, who was relieved of his duties earlier today, Monday.
Chelsea Football Club announced the sacking of head coach Frank Lampard due to the poor results the London club has been experiencing recently. Chelsea revealed Lampard's dismissal through their official Twitter account, despite his contract extending until June 2022.
According to the German newspaper "Bild," Tuchel arrived in the British capital to finalize his appointment as Chelsea's head coach with the club officials. He is set to replace Frank Lampard at Chelsea and will sign a four-and-a-half-year contract with the Blues.
Additionally, Chelsea is expected to formally conclude the agreement with the German coach after the completion of the Blues' training session. It is worth mentioning that Chelsea has suffered five defeats in their last eight matches and currently sits in eighth place with 29 points in the domestic league, trailing 11 points behind leaders Manchester United.
