The Tunisian national team has taken a significant step towards the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar by defeating their Malian hosts 1-0 today, Friday, in the first leg of the African qualifiers' playoff round. Musa Sisoko, a defender for the Malian team, scored the only goal of the match by accidentally putting the ball into his own net in the 36th minute. The same player received a direct red card in the 40th minute after a strong tackle on Tunisia's Seifeddine Jaziri. The return match between the two teams is scheduled to take place in Tunisia next Tuesday.
