Deportivo Alavés announced the dismissal of coach Pablo Machín following a 3-1 defeat against Cádiz in the 18th round of La Liga, according to the club's official website.
Coach Javier Cabo, who manages the reserve team, will oversee training until a new coach is appointed after Machín's departure. The club administration expressed their gratitude to Machín.
Pablo Machín took charge of Deportivo Alavés at the start of the current season, leading the team in 20 matches across all competitions, winning 6, drawing 6, and losing 8.
Notably, Alavés is currently in sixteenth place in La Liga with 18 points, just two points above the relegation zone. It is worth mentioning that Pablo Machín has previously coached Girona, Sevilla, and Espanyol.
