The council of "Barrow-in-Furness" in Britain has announced a vacant position for the role of a king. According to the "Daily Mail," the council is looking for a person to manage a restaurant and hotel, oversee a 14th-century castle, and most importantly, serve as the king of the island of "Peel."
John Murphy, who has led guided tours to the island for nearly 40 years, states that anyone who secures the job will need to be "deeply committed." He added, "You cannot apply for the position just to earn a loaf of bread while on Peel Island... You will need dedication and a strong passion for solitude, peace, and tranquility. This requires a special character."
Murphy pointed out that the town of Barrow, dominated by shipbuilding and nuclear submarines, is not often seen as a tourist destination, but it has evolved into a favored spot for many. Once the right person is appointed, there will be some rituals at the time of their appointment as the king, where the future monarch sits on a wooden throne and wears a helmet.
The monarch's duties include welcoming tourists from April to September when the ferry service operates. During other times of the year, the king will be alone. The island's leisure program offers stunning sunsets, seal watching on sandy beaches, and enjoying an extraordinary sensation—walking on the sands to the nearby island during low tide.
