Turkish Galatasaray Exits Turkish Cup in Quarterfinals

Turkish club Galatasaray has exited the Italian Cup from the quarterfinals after losing to Alanyaspor with a score of 3-2, which allows Alanyaspor to advance to the semifinals.

Senegalese player Khoma Babacar scored the first goal for Alanyaspor in the 30th minute, followed by his teammate Salih Uçan who added a second goal in the 41st minute. Babacar returned to find the net again, scoring the third goal for Alanyaspor and his second personal goal in the 48th minute from a penalty.

In the final minutes, Galatasaray mounted a comeback and scored two goals through Egyptian Mustafa Mohamed and Portuguese Gedson Fernandes in the 83rd and 90th minutes, but this was not enough to save veteran coach Fatih Terim's team from exiting the tournament. It is worth mentioning that Alanyaspor had previously defeated Galatasaray twice in the Turkish league and also eliminated them from the quarterfinals of the cup last season.
