Neymar's Former Team Moves to Reclaim Him This Summer from PSG

The president of Brazilian club Santos, Andres Rueda, confirmed that his team has started efforts to regain the services of their former star Neymar, amidst rumors regarding his potential departure from Paris Saint-Germain this summer. Rueda stated during a meeting of Santos' advisory council on Wednesday that his team is "taking measures to recover Neymar," whose future at "Parc des Princes" remains uncertain.

He added, "I have received over a hundred messages regarding Neymar. I hope they trust us more." Rueda believes it would be "immature" not to take action regarding Neymar's potential return after reports in both Spanish and French media suggested that PSG has decided to part ways with him this summer.

He confirmed without providing further details about the steps being taken to try to bring Neymar back: "Measures are being taken, but there are things I cannot talk about; it's strategy."

It is worth noting that Neymar (30 years old) left Santos, the club where he grew up, in 2013 to join Barcelona, where he excelled for several seasons before moving to PSG in 2017 in a deal that made him the most expensive player in football history (222 million euros).

Uncertainty surrounds Neymar's fate, as French and Spanish media have reported that the Parisian team intends to let him go this summer. Recently, PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaifi declined to confirm whether Neymar would be part of the club's plans for the 2022-2023 season. Furthermore, reports suggest that one of the conditions French legend Zinedine Zidane is insisting on before agreeing to coach PSG starting next season is to offload the Brazilian star.

Neymar's performance has significantly declined since his transfer to PSG in 2017, as he has missed several important matches for the club due to recurrent injuries, managing to play only 22 matches in the past season, during which he scored 13 goals.
