The Union of Used Car Importers in Lebanon, led by Eli Kazi, held a protest in front of the Vehicle Registration Authority to express their refusal to continue the closure of "Nafaa" centers in various Lebanese regions. Kazi demanded the reopening of these centers due to the losses incurred by the sector as a result of the closure, which is justified by a lack of administrative supplies and fuel. He deemed that "there is a programmed bankruptcy operation targeting state sectors, and we do not accept this."
Kazi urged those in charge not to involve them in their political games and quotas, asking for their rights within the law to facilitate citizens' transactions. He noted that "Nafaa generates 4 billion L.L. daily for the treasury." He called on the officials to take the necessary steps to reopen these vital centers for both the state and citizens, as well as the car sector, warning that failure to do so would lead to escalations and road blockages.
