The German newspaper "Sport Bild" revealed that Chelsea FC has decided to correct the mistake made by Portuguese manager José Mourinho by releasing Egyptian player Mohamed Salah. According to the newspaper, German coach Thomas Tuchel has resolved to rectify the error made by Mourinho when he was managing the London club in 2015, by bringing Salah back to the "Blues" starting from next season.
The German newspaper added that Salah is among the key options Tuchel has identified to strengthen Chelsea's squad for the upcoming season, alongside Norwegian star Erling Haaland from Borussia Dortmund and Belgian striker Romelu Lukaku from Inter Milan.
Chelsea has joined a number of clubs that have previously expressed interest in acquiring Salah, including Spanish clubs Real Madrid and Barcelona, French club Paris Saint-Germain, and German club Bayern Munich.
Salah, who caught attention while playing for Swiss club Basel, was part of Chelsea under Mourinho, who did not give him enough opportunity to prove himself, leading the club to loan him to Fiorentina and later to Roma before he settled at Liverpool, where he helped the team win the Premier League title last season, a trophy that had eluded the "Reds" for 30 years.
