The Lebanese Internal Security Forces reported on their official Facebook page that on March 17, 2021, the body of a citizen, R. R. (born in 1943), was found lifeless in her home located in the town of Miziara - Zgharta district, and that she had been bludgeoned on the head before some of her jewelry, cash, and mobile phone were stolen.

As a result of extensive investigations and inquiries conducted by the specialized units in the Information Branch of the Internal Security Forces, they suspected a woman who had been coming to work in the victim's house for about two weeks and who had vanished after the crime occurred.

Through diligent follow-up, the branch identified the full identity of the suspect, whose name is M. M. (born in 1998, Syrian). The investigative and technical follow-up helped locate the suspect. After careful surveillance, one of the branch's patrols was able to arrest her on April 15, 2021, inside a hotel in the town of Ehden, where she was hiding under an alias. A gold chain and icon belonging to the victim were found in her possession.

During the investigation, she confessed to committing the murder, stating that she struck the victim on the head with a "wooden mallet" and stole her phone, jewelry, and a sum of money. Legal actions were taken against her, and she was referred along with the seized items to the relevant authority based on the judicial directive.
