The Kurdish channel "NRT" aired a report attacking Iraqi artist Kadhim Al Sahir, demanding he return a sum of money he borrowed from a family.
This report created a significant stir on social media shortly after it was broadcast. The channel disclosed in its report that Al Sahir had borrowed money while he worked as a teacher in the town of Aqra (a city in Iraq belonging to Dohuk province) from 1979 to 1981. It was mentioned in the report that "Al Sahir has not been loyal to them, has not inquired about the villagers, nor visited them or offered anything in return for their loyalty."
One individual stated that Kadhim Al Sahir had borrowed money from his mother, promising to return it when he came back, but he never returned, and his mother passed away, leaving the debt owed to Al Sahir. The son of that lady demanded the return of the amount.
This situation incited anger among Al Sahir's fans, who called for legal action against the channel and the family for insulting the Iraqi artist. They questioned the purpose of the report and urged the channel to remove it immediately.
It is worth mentioning that Kadhim Al Sahir has seven siblings: "Ali, Hassan, Hussein, Abbas, Muhammad, Ibrahim, and Salem," as well as two sisters, "Amira and Fatima." Kadhim was born in Mosul in 1957 and was married once to his cousin in the late seventies, a marriage that lasted until 1996. He has two sons, "Wisam," born in 1981, and "Omar," born in 1987.
