First Direct Passenger Flight from Saudi Arabia to Damascus International Airport

Today, Thursday, the first direct passenger flight operated by the Saudi company "Flynas" arrived at Damascus International Airport, coming from Riyadh after a years-long hiatus.

A few days ago, Ala'a Sllal, the Director of Public Relations at the Syrian Civil Aviation Authority, stated that "Emirates Airlines" would resume its flights to Damascus International Airport starting from June 16th, while the Saudi company "Flynas" would begin its flights within the coming days.

Many airlines withdrew from Syria when the Syrian crisis began 14 years ago. International flights also stopped when the Assad regime fell in December 2024, but they have been resumed afterwards with services currently provided by major airlines, including Qatar Airways and Turkish Airlines.
