Queen Elizabeth Cancels Virtual Engagements as She Continues to Recover from COVID-19

Buckingham Palace announced yesterday (Tuesday) that Queen Elizabeth II of Britain has canceled her virtual engagements scheduled for yesterday, as she continues to experience moderate cold-like symptoms due to her COVID-19 infection, according to the German news agency. It was announced last Sunday that the 95-year-old queen had contracted the virus, and she was set to undertake virtual duties yesterday. The British news agency "PA Media" reported that the palace stated she would continue to carry out light duties, with scheduled tasks for next week to be determined later. A palace spokesperson said, "Given that Her Majesty is still suffering from cold-like symptoms, she has decided not to carry out her planned virtual activities, but she will continue with light duties." The queen recently celebrated her Platinum Jubilee, marking 70 years on the throne on February 6th. It is believed that the queen has received three vaccine doses, but she has been advised by doctors to rest and only undertake light duties since mid-October.
