Mohamed Salah, the star of Liverpool, revealed his impossible wish following the loss to Real Madrid (1-0) in the UEFA Champions League final. Salah wrote on his official Instagram account on Thursday: "Being appreciated by fans and sports journalists in the same season is something special that I will never forget." The "Reds" top scorer added: "However, I am willing to forgo these awards for a chance to replay the final." He continued, "But football doesn’t work that way."
Salah expressed, "I cannot put into words how much we wanted to bring the Champions League trophy back to Liverpool, but in the end, we were unable to do so." He concluded: "I cannot thank the fans enough for their support; it has been a very long season, but deep down, I hope the new season starts tomorrow." Salah won the Premier League Player of the Year award from the Football Writers' Association and the fans' vote, in addition to winning the Premier League Golden Boot and the Best Assists award.
