Cameroon national team coach, Portuguese Toni Conceição, stated that he is aware of the strengths and weaknesses of the Egypt national team, emphasizing that what worries him is the collective play of the "Pharaohs." The Egypt team will face the host Cameroon tomorrow, Thursday, in the semi-finals of the Africa Cup of Nations.
In television statements on the eve of the anticipated match, Conceição said: "Playing in Douala is different because we feel the love of the enthusiastic fans who love football... the supporters back us from the first minute to the last."
He added, "We know the magnitude of the event we are in, and we will strive to deliver a good performance, similar to our last match (in the quarter-finals when Cameroon defeated Gambia 2-0), as I am proud of the players."
Conceição emphasized, "Egypt is one of the most successful teams in Africa, with a rich history in the tournament and always aims to win, but we are ambitious to stop that dominance."
He continued: "We know the strengths and weaknesses of the Egypt team, but what concerns me is that they are a collective team that plays cohesive football, but we will strive to perform well and reach the final."
The Portuguese coach concluded, "The players of the Cameroon national team have a winning mentality and an ambition to reach the final and compete, which is reassuring, and we will utilize all our strength in the match."
The winner of the Cameroon vs. Egypt match will face the qualifier from the Senegal vs. Burkina Faso match in the second semi-final scheduled for later today, Wednesday.
