Thomas Markle, the father of Meghan Markle, wife of Prince Harry and Duchess of Sussex, claimed that he sent her a bouquet of flowers for her 44th birthday as a goodwill gesture to rekindle their relationship after their disputes, but she did not respond. The 77-year-old informed the media that he sent his daughter a special arrangement of dozens of red roses with two yellow roses in the center, representing her children with Prince Harry. Thomas specifically expressed his desire to connect with his grandchildren, Archie (2 years old) and Lilibet (2 months old), stating that he wants to be part of their lives as he believes they lack family connections in Montecito, California.
He included a card with the flowers that read, "Wishing you a happy birthday and brighter days ahead." While Thomas claims that Meghan has not reached out to him after receiving the gift, he mentioned that she accepted it because "she loves flowers."
Thomas and Meghan have been estranged since May 2018 when he was caught taking staged photos with paparazzi in the weeks leading up to his daughter’s wedding to Prince Harry. He later leaked a personal message from her. Since then, he has made several public attempts to contact his daughter and son-in-law, but to no avail.
In July, Thomas revealed that he would take legal action against the Duke and Duchess of Sussex because he has yet to meet his grandchildren amid the family dispute. He told Fox News from his home in Rosarito, Mexico: "I will file a petition in California courts to see my grandchildren very soon."
