Jürgen Klopp, the manager of the English football team Liverpool, confirmed on Friday that there is no player in the world who can replace Trent Alexander-Arnold after the right-back suffered a knee ligament injury that will keep him out of the team for several weeks. The British news agency "PA Media" reported that Alexander-Arnold's absence is a significant blow for Liverpool, which hopes to continue competing for the quadruple, as the team faces a crucial month including a match against hosts Manchester City, current leaders of the Premier League, on April 10.
Klopp does not have a ready replacement in the first team. Joe Gomez can play in the right-back position, but he prefers to play as a center-back, so the Liverpool manager must devise a plan to utilize him along with duo James Milner and defender Conor Bradley. Klopp said, "Trent is out due to a hamstring injury, so he won't join the England national team. There is no good news." He added, "We will see how long he will need, but of course, finding a replacement for Trent is difficult but possible. We always do this."
He further stated, "The way he plays, I don't know any player who plays like Trent in the world. So it will be hard to find a substitute." He affirmed, "We have Joe. Theoretically, we can also change the system. With such things, we have two options, but you are right, he is extremely influential."
He emphasized, "If you look back at the past when Milly had to play in his place, he did very well. He just has to be ready, and then everything will be fine. I don't know if he will be available on Sunday (against Nottingham Forest in the FA Cup)." He clarified, "Perhaps we have a very small solution with Bradley as well."
Klopp also expressed concerns about Mohamed Salah's injury, who was fit enough to participate as a substitute in the match that the team won against Arsenal last Wednesday, a game in which Trent got injured but finished it. Klopp mentioned, "Salah felt a little pain in his foot after the match, so we will have to see what they do with this pain."
