Manchester City continues to sit at the top of the English Premier League table for the current 2021-2022 season, following the conclusion of the 23rd round of matches on Sunday evening. Southampton managed to force a 1-1 draw against Manchester City during their match on Saturday evening at St. Mary's Stadium.

Liverpool has narrowed the gap with league leaders Manchester City after securing a valuable 3-1 victory against Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park on Sunday. Chelsea also achieved a significant win over Tottenham Hotspur, with a score of 2-0 in the London derby held at Stamford Bridge, marking a highlight of the 23rd round of the Premier League.

As a result, Manchester City maintains its lead in the Premier League table with 57 points, whereas Southampton occupies the twelfth position with 25 points. Southampton's draw halted Manchester City's winning streak, which had extended to 12 consecutive matches in the league, as they had not lost since a defeat to Crystal Palace in October.

Currently, Liverpool ranks second in the Premier League standings with 48 points, 9 points behind Manchester City, noting that Liverpool has played one match less. Crystal Palace sits in thirteenth place with 24 points.

Chelsea holds third place in the league with 47 points, just one point behind Liverpool, while having played two matches fewer. Tottenham ranks seventh with 36 points from 20 matches.

Additionally, Arsenal drew 0-0 with Burnley at the Emirates Stadium, bringing Arsenal's total to 36 points in sixth place, while Burnley has 13 points, placed last in twentieth position after only 18 matches, having had multiple matches postponed due to COVID-19 infections within the team in recent weeks.

In another match, Leicester City drew 1-1 with Brighton, with Zambia’s Daka scoring for the hosts and veteran striker Welbeck equalizing for Brighton. This result puts Leicester City at 26 points in tenth place from 20 matches, while Brighton has 30 points in ninth from 22 matches.
