Moroccan police have arrested four individuals, including university students, in a new case of sexual blackmail in the same city that witnessed the "sex for grades" scandal, which is currently under investigation involving professors and students. According to the local site "Hespress," the judicial police of the Sidi Smaïl police department, in coordination with the technical and scientific police service, arrested four individuals yesterday, Saturday, who are suspected of being involved in sexual blackmail, fraud, and threatening to publish explicit photos and videos of their alleged victims after luring them via social media.
The suspects, all under the age of 30 and hailing from Oued Zem in the Sidi Smaïl province, were apprehended following a complaint by a visitor to Morocco, who reported being a victim of fraud and sexual blackmail, and threatened with the dissemination of private images of him in inappropriate situations. This occurred after he was lured by two young women who recorded him in suggestive scenes.
The Moroccan site added that the two young women are suspected of being used as bait to lure the victims through online platforms, filming them in explicit scenarios, and then blackmailing them by threatening to release the recordings unless they sent the demanded amount of money set by the suspects.
Police in Sidi Smaïl had moved to one of the apartments in the city based on precise technical information and ongoing surveillance of the suspects. They managed to arrest the four individuals and seize all materials that could aid in the preliminary investigation before placing the suspects under custody, awaiting presentation to the competent public prosecutor in the capital city of the Shauiya region for further legal action.
