ISIS Claims Responsibility for Explosion in Balkh Province, Afghanistan

The Islamic State (ISIS) announced today, Sunday, via Telegram, its responsibility for an explosion that occurred yesterday, Saturday, in Balkh Province, Afghanistan. The explosion took place in a cultural center during an event for journalists in northern Afghanistan yesterday, resulting in at least one death and eight injuries, according to authorities. This explosion came just two days after the governor of the province died in an explosion also claimed by the organization.
