Calm Returns to Ethiopia's Amhara Region After Violent Protests

Calm has returned today, Wednesday, to Ethiopia's Amhara region after six days of violent protests against a proposed change to local forces. Residents of Gondar, Debre Berhan, and Bahir Dar, the capital of the Amhara region, reported that businesses, banks, and government offices have resumed operations and traffic is flowing smoothly. They added, "The city has now returned to almost normal."
