Erdogan on the Possibility of Finland Joining NATO: We Will Fulfill Our Commitments

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan confirmed that his country will fulfill its commitments regarding Finland's membership in the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO). Erdogan stated on Wednesday, following a speech to his Justice and Development Party parliamentary group, in response to a journalist's question about the possibility of Finland joining NATO next week, that "we will work to activate the agreement reached between Ankara and Helsinki during the NATO leaders' summit in Madrid." He also noted that Finnish President "Mr. Niinistö will visit us on Friday, and we will do what is required of us and fulfill our commitments."
