Majed bin Mohammed Al-Ansari, spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, stated in a press release on Sunday that "Qatar is always striving to support what achieves Arab consensus and will not be an obstacle in that regard." Al-Ansari affirmed Qatar's consistent position on normalizing relations with President Bashar al-Assad's government, noting that it remains "primarily linked to progress in the political solution" to the Syrian crisis.
