According to the "Syrian Observatory for Human Rights," Iranian military groups present in Syria began on Monday the task of removing the Iranian flag and the flags of "Fatimiyoun" and "Zainabiyoun" from their sites within Syrian territory, following a direct request from the Syrian regime.
The Iranian flag and the banners were taken down from locations in the city of Deir ez-Zor and the cities of Mayadin and Boukamal in eastern Deir ez-Zor countryside, as well as from the city of Palmyra and its surrounding areas in eastern Homs. The flags were replaced with the Syrian flag.
On the other hand, the observatory expressed skepticism regarding the seriousness of this step, considering it to be “only a media move,” as it confirms that no personnel have withdrawn from Syria.
