The Jordanian Parliament voted today, Wednesday, on a recommendation for the government to expel the Israeli ambassador from Amman, in protest against a statement made by Israeli Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich, who used a map of Israel including Jordan and Palestinian territories.
Parliament Speaker Ahmad Safadi urged the government to take "effective and impactful measures" regarding the use of the alleged map by the Israeli Finance Minister. Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Local Administration Tawfiq Kreishan affirmed that "these stances unite Jordanians, and the map of Jordan is drawn only by Jordanians, and Jordan is resilient against all conspiracies under its Hashemite leadership."
