Kremlin: Putin and Erdogan's Call Will Not Solve Grain Agreement Crisis

The Kremlin announced today, Friday, that "there is nothing new to discuss regarding the potential extension of the grain export agreement via the Black Sea," adding that "a phone call between the presidents of Turkey and Russia will not help reach an understanding." In a conversation with reporters, Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov stated that "only the full implementation of the agreement will facilitate its extension." Earlier, Turkish Defense Minister Hulusi Akar mentioned that "the parties to the agreement are nearing consensus on its extension."
