The German Foreign Ministry stated today, Tuesday, that it informed the Turkish ambassador in Berlin that the government "strongly rejects" the accusations from its Turkish counterpart regarding a lack of respect for freedom of expression and press freedom in Germany. Turkey summoned the German ambassador in Ankara on Wednesday to condemn the detention of journalists working for a Turkey-based pro-government newspaper by German authorities.
