The President of the United Arab Emirates, Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, arrived in Cairo today, Wednesday, for an official visit. Egypt’s President Abdel Fattah El Sisi welcomed UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan at Cairo International Airport upon his arrival, as reported by the Emirates News Agency, WAM.
The Egyptian President had previously made a surprise visit to Saudi Arabia on April 3, aimed primarily at securing financial support from the kingdom. Cairo reached an agreement for a financial support package worth three billion dollars with the International Monetary Fund in December, while the country has halved the value of its currency since March 2022, following the impacts of the Russian invasion of Ukraine that revealed vulnerabilities in the economy.
