British Government Calls for Capping Food Prices

The Telegraph reported that the British government is considering plans to urge retailers to cap the prices of basic food items such as bread and milk, as the cost of these goods continues to rise significantly. In a talk with the BBC, Health and Social Care Secretary Steve Barclay stated, "What I understand is that the government is working constructively with stores on how to address the genuine concerns regarding food price inflation and the cost of living, and to do so in a way that seriously considers the impact on suppliers."
