Agreement Between Russia and Oman to Avoid Double Taxation

The Russian Ministry of Finance reported on Thursday that Russia and Oman have signed an agreement to avoid double taxation, describing the step as significant for deepening economic relations between the two countries. Deputy Finance Minister Alexei Sazanov noted that "in 2022, the trade volume between the two countries grew by 46 percent,” emphasizing that “it is necessary to continue increasing the trade turnover and enhancing economic cooperation.” Russia proposed to suspend double taxation agreements with what it terms "unfriendly countries," which are those that imposed sanctions on Moscow following its invasion of Ukraine.
