The European Union's foreign policy chief, Josep Borrell, indicated on Tuesday that China has a moral obligation to contribute to establishing peace in Ukraine and should refrain from supporting the aggressor in the war initiated by Russia's invasion of Ukraine. After a meeting with U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken in Brussels, Borrell stated, "China has a moral duty to contribute to establishing a just peace... it cannot side with the aggressor."
