The head of the Legal Affairs Authority at the Ministry of Justice, Judge Helena Iskander, requested from the Deputy Chief Investigating Judge in Beirut, Charbel Abou Samra, permission for herself or one of her assistants to attend the interrogation session of the Governor of the Central Bank of Lebanon, Riad Salameh, his brother Raja, and his assistant Marian Hayek. This session is scheduled to take place this Wednesday, March 15, with the participation of the European judicial delegation, in connection with cases of embezzlement, money laundering, and illicit enrichment. It is worth noting that the Legal Affairs Authority in the Ministry of Justice represents the state both domestically and internationally before all judicial, administrative, or arbitration courts of various kinds, defending the state and filing lawsuits on its behalf.
