Palestinian factions targeted settlement areas surrounding Gaza with volleys of rockets, several of which were intercepted by the Iron Dome. The Fatah movement stated, "The aggression against Gaza will not break the will of the Palestinian people." Meanwhile, the Al-Qassam Brigades indicated that their air defenses re-engaged against the occupying forces' aircraft in the skies over Gaza with surface-to-air missiles. Hamas held the "occupation responsible for its aggression against Jerusalem and Gaza" and called for unity in an open confrontation with it. The Islamic Jihad movement threatened, stating that "any Israeli bombing will be met with retaliation, and every act of aggression will be responded to in kind." Additionally, the Abu Ali Mustafa Brigades targeted the settlements of Nahal Oz and Meflasim with rocket fire. The Mujahideen Brigades also engaged hostile Israeli warplanes in the skies over Gaza with a surface-to-air missile.
