The Athletics Integrity Unit announced today, Friday, the temporary suspension of world champion steeplechaser Nora Giroto due to the use of a prohibited substance/method (ABP), which violates anti-doping rules. They added in a tweet that the 27-year-old athlete, who won the Diamond League gold in the same event in 2021, has been informed of the charge. Giroto, the Kenyan athlete who switched allegiance to Kazakhstan, won gold in the 3000 meters steeplechase at the 2022 World Championships in Eugene, achieving a championship record, which is the third fastest time in history. Giroto missed the Tokyo Olympics during her period of transferring allegiance to Kazakhstan.
