European Council President Charles Michel announced at a forum in a resort on Lake Bled in Slovenia on Monday that the European Union must be ready to allow new members to join by 2030. He added, "I believe we must be prepared for expansion by 2030. This is an ambition, but it is necessary; it shows our seriousness."
