Resumption of Diplomatic Relations Between Iran and Algeria

Iranian Foreign Minister Hussein Amir-Abdollahian announced that an agreement has been reached with Algeria to restore diplomatic relations and reopen embassies. Abdollahian's remarks came during his meeting with Algerian Foreign Minister Ahmed Attaf in Tehran, who in turn welcomed the improvement of relations between Iran and Arab countries, particularly with Saudi Arabia. During the meeting, the two sides also discussed developments in Sudan, which both the Iranian and Algerian sides viewed as a "common concern," emphasizing the necessity of dialogue and a ceasefire.
