Major indexes on Wall Street opened higher on Tuesday, boosted by gains in major company stocks and optimistic data on capital goods orders, which helped alleviate concerns about a slowdown in the U.S. economy. The Dow Jones Industrial Average rose by 24.32 points, or 0.07%, to 33,739.03 points at the open, while the S&P 500 increased by 8.54 points, or 0.20%, to 4,337.36. The NASDAQ Composite also rose by 53.47 points, or 0.40%, to 13,389.25 points.
