The Syrian Ministry of Transport confirmed that Damascus International Airport has resumed operations after it was targeted by an Israeli attack that resulted in four fatalities. The Syrian official news agency "SANA" reported that two military personnel were killed early Monday due to the Israeli strikes, which temporarily incapacitated the airport. A Syrian official source stated, "The Israeli enemy conducted an aerial aggression early today, launching volleys of rockets from the northeastern direction of Lake Tiberias, targeting Damascus International Airport and its vicinity." The source added that the attack led to the deaths of two military personnel, injuries to two others, material damages, and rendered Damascus International Airport out of service. According to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, the Israeli bombardment targeted "positions of Hezbollah and Iranian-affiliated groups within the airport and its surroundings, including a weapons depot." This marks the second time that Damascus Airport has been rendered inoperative since June 2022, when an Israeli strike caused all flights to be halted for about two weeks after damaging one of the runways.
