Two Individuals Executed More Than 15 Motorcycle Theft Operations in Meniyeh

The Internal Security Forces General Directorate – Public Relations Division mentioned that "as part of the daily follow-up conducted by the Information Branch of the Internal Security Forces to reduce car and motorcycle thefts in various Lebanese regions, and to pursue and apprehend those involved, the specialized units in the branch have detected the activity of a gang whose members carry out motorcycle thefts in the northern town of Meniyeh."

In a statement, it stated that "through extensive investigations and inquiries, the branch managed to identify the perpetrators of the aforementioned thefts, namely: Y. Q. (born in 1997, Syrian) and K. J. (born in 1995, Syrian), who is wanted for theft and illegal residency. Orders were issued to locate and arrest them."

The directorate added, "On 6-3-2023, after a careful observation and surveillance operation, one of the Information Branch patrols was able to set up a tight ambush in the same town, resulting in their arrest." It further clarified that "during the interrogation, they confessed to what was attributed to them regarding the execution of more than 15 motorcycle theft operations in Meniyeh, and they also admitted to selling them to a person, and efforts are ongoing to apprehend him."

It concluded: "Legal measures were taken against them, and they were handed over to the relevant authority based on the judiciary's instructions."
