Iraq: Two Members of the Saraya al-Salam Killed

The leadership of Saraya al-Salam announced the "martyrdom of two fighters" during their defense of the sanctity of the martyr Muhammad al-Sadr. A document issued by the central administration of Saraya al-Salam, addressed to the institution of the martyr's shrine, confirms the "martyrdom of Muhammad Sadiq Ni'ma and Ali Jabar Kazim while defending the sanctity of the martyr," and requests assistance for their shrouding and burial at the Shrine of the Martyrs of Reform.

The Al-Abidi area witnessed armed clashes yesterday, Sunday, which sources said resulted in the injury of an officer with the rank of Major, as well as two police officers and several civilians, with injuries among some members of Saraya al-Salam. A person made an "offensive" comment about Mr. Muqtada al-Sadr and his father, Mr. Muhammad Sadiq al-Sadr, following al-Sadr's directive to prevent "corrupt individuals and politicians from entering the shrine of the second martyr." This led to a demonstration by supporters of the Sadrist movement demanding an apology from the individual, but the situation escalated into clashes, with reports suggesting that the commenter belongs to another armed faction.
