Borrell: The EU Is Not Ready for a New Package of Sanctions Against Russia

Joseph Borrell, the High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy of the European Union, indicated in a statement upon his arrival in Luxembourg for the EU Foreign Affairs Ministers' meeting, broadcasted by the EU's foreign policy service, that "the EU Foreign Ministers are not ready to agree on a new package of sanctions against Russia." In response to a question about whether the EU would include "Rosatom" in the eleventh package of sanctions imposed on Russia, he pointed out that "the EU is not currently in a position to agree on new sanctions against Russia, and we will continue the discussion. We do not know if (Rosatom) will be included in these sanctions."
