A prominent member of the Israeli Knesset revealed in statements broadcasted on Saturday that Israel might accept a consensus between its arch-enemy Iran and the United States if it includes strict oversight of Tehran's nuclear program. Yuli Edelstein, the head of the Knesset's Foreign Affairs and Defense Committee, stated in a conversation with a program on Channel 12 that "it's not an agreement in the broadest sense; it's more like a small agreement or a memorandum of understanding... I believe that Israel could coexist with this if there is real oversight." The office of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu declined to comment on whether Edelstein's remarks reflect the Prime Minister's views.
